Wordless Wednesday

Why does my coworker Alex look so shocked?

He has just arrived at a surprise celebration for becoming a US Citizen after ten years of expense, frustration, bureaucracy, and hard work!

It is the flag just as much of the man who was naturalized yesterday as of the men whose people have been here many generations. ~Henry Cabot Lodge

Stan, thanks for stopping by my blog. The few words I put (since it's technically wordless Wednesday) don't at all do justice to what a harrowing process this has been. He's a hard worker, all around good person; I am so happy to see this happen for him!

How awesome! Please pass my congratulations on to Alex. I'm sure it must've been frustrating for him. Ten years is a long time!
Thanks so much for stopping by and linking up Paula. Have a great day.

That is awesome! I attended my husband's naturalization ceremony and it was one of the most moving experiences of my life. And, I suspect, like Alex, my husband had quite a journey to getting there.
